  P*Tech Privacy and Security Policy

We are committed to protecting your privacy and security. We will only use the information that we collect about you
lawfully (in accordance with the Data Protection Act 1998) and according to the Which? Web Trader Code of Practice.

We collect information about you for 2 reasons: firstly, to process your order and second, to provide you with the best possible service.

We will not e-mail you in the future unless you have asked us to do so.

The type of information we will collect about you includes: your name, address, phone number and email address. We do not keep any record
of your credit card number on our computer and only retain the merchant copy of the payment voucher until the payment appears on our
Streamline (NatWest) statement. Then we destroy all record of your credit card number.

All internet credit card processing is carried out on the secure servers of BT EStore which fully meet the BS7799 Code of Practice for
Information Security Management. Our own servers are fully equipped with the latest firewall and virus protection and use 128 bit cypher protection,
the highest level of protection possible for all your Internet communications.

Any private information that you enter into the BT EStore site is secure; this means that they use industry-standard Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) technology to allow
for the encryption of sensitive information such as your name, address andyour credit card details. The registration and payment pages are all secure.
When a secure server is in use, the information is encrypted by your browser prior to sending it across the Internet. The information can only be decoded
by the host site which requested it. In the unlikely event that anyone could intercept the information as it crossed the Internet, it is practically
impossible for them to break the encryption.
Secure server URLs are usually denoted by the prefix 'https' as opposed to'http' or by a small padlock icon at the bottom of your browser screen.
If the site you are using is hosted on several servers you may not see the padlock icon, but this does not mean that your information is not secure.
Current versions of all popular browsers (Internet Explorer and Netscape) support secure server access.

We will never collect sensitive information about you without your explicit consent. The information we hold will be accurate and up to date. You can check the information that we hold about you by emailing us. If you find any inaccuracies we will delete or correct it promptly. The personal information which we hold will be held securely in accordance with our internal security policy and the law and the Which? Web Trader Code.
